This book “An Insight into Chemical Engineering” was written by myself (msubbu), and released in 2003. This consists of instant notes, objective type questions with reasonning, and problems with solutions. This covers the core subjects of Chemical engineering, viz: Process Calculations, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Mechanical Operations, Heat Transfer, Mass Transfer, Chemical Reaction Engineering, Process Control, Process Economics, Process Equipment Design, and Mathematics.
This book is based on my preparation to GATE. The notes are based on nice points taken from several good books on chemical engineering. The questions are mostly from GATE(1988-2002). The solutions to the questions are based on my understanding of the subjects. Good reasonning are given connecting the subjects. Several years of my preparation to get through in GATE, and to coach my students to score well in GATE, resulted to this book.
GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is an examination conducted jointly by IITs and IISc of India. This examination is kind of a screening test for getting admission to post graduate studies in India. It is also used for preliminary screening of candidates for public sector companies (PSU) of India.
