About GATE Chemical Engineering

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an examination that primarily tests the conceptual understanding of key aspects of core subjects of engineering at the undergraduate level. Preparing to GATE will help one to assess his learning at the national level, in addition to getting admission to higher education or the ultimate objective of getting placed in top notch core companies.

GATE-CH tests the understanding in the core subjects of Chemical Engineering namely: Process Calculations, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Mechanical Operations, Heat Transfer, Mass Transfer, Reaction Engineering, Process Control, Process Economics, Process Equipment Design, Chemical Technology, Mathematics and General Aptitude.

About the Coach

The primary coach for this course - MSubbu (Dr. M. Subramanian) is a Professional of Chemical Engineering. He is a doctorate from IIT Madras. He is a passionate academician, researcher, author, and publisher. Along with him there is an expert team to handle specific subjects.

Experience of the Coach in GATE

MSubbu has taken up GATE exams in 1994, 1996, and 2003. In 2003, he got a All India Rank (AIR) of 24 among about 7,000 participants. His own preparation to take up GATE exam, and to guide the students resulted in nice books "An Insight into Chemical Engineering", "GATEway to Chemical Engineering (set of 5 volumes)", and "GATEway to General Aptitude" which are the best-sellers for GATE. His in-person guidance to students of SVCE, and SSN resulted in students getting placements in IOCL, BPCL, ONGC, SPIC, etc. His books, web-resources, youtube-videos, and online classes are serving the Chemical Engineering community in understanding the topics in crisp and subjects in depth.

Course Flow

Review of core topics of all the core subjects of Chemical Engineering as per GATE syllabus (excluding General Aptitude and Mathematics).

Solving typical GATE questions, and questions adapted from good books and materials.

Periodic assessments by the way of automated quizzes, and feedback in contact sessions.

Course Delivery

25 weeks of classes from 2nd week of June'2024 to 2nd week of January'2025.

First 20 weeks (June to Nov): covering whole syllabus of GATE. Recorded lectures - 5 hours / week; Live classes - 4 hours / week; and, Automated assessments of 1 hour fortnightly.

Last 5 weeks (Dec to Jan): quick revision, Live discussions of 4 hours/week; Automated assessments with feedback.

Lecture using smart digital board in acoustic proof class room, from Chennai. One can attend the class either in-person, or through online. In addition to the access to live classes, 1 year access to Chemical Engineering bundles of textual courses and video lectures and General Aptitude bundleof msubbu.academy courses will be enabled.

Video recordings of classes will be available for access from our website.

Day & Time of Classes

Class Timings: Weekday (Tuesday & Thursday) evenings 1 hour during 6:30 to 7:30 pm. Weekend (Saturday or Sunday, mostly on Sunday) morning 9 to 11:30 am.

Total: Recorded Lectures of 100 hours, and Live classes of 100 hours.

Eligibility: Prefinal / Final year students and graduates. Basic idea of a subject (from your regular classes) will help you to learn the subjects in fast and depth.
